Adria and Aaron met at Elon University while singing together in Twisted Measure, one of (and the first, lest anyone forget) the a cappella groups on campus. They quickly bonded over their love of music, Red Bowl (an Elon off-campus staple), and finding deals at TJ Maxx. They were close friends for their two overlapping years at Elon together, but it wasn’t until the fall of 2016 that Aaron asked Adria out on date. The rest is history! After Adria graduated in the spring of 2018, they continued to live in North Carolina, gallivanting across Durham, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh. After three years together in the Triangle filled with family, friends, and many NC trail walks, Aaron and Adria said goodbye to in-unit dishwashers and laundry: they packed their bags and moved to New York City for graduate school, where they have lived since. In New York, Aaron and Adria found that while the seasons and the pace of life are a bit different than the South, living in this new environment allowed their love to grow in new and exciting avenues. They’ve traded their NC trails for walks and picnics along the Hudson River, and their weekends are spent in galleries, rock climbing gyms, and the laundry room (if they can get a machine). On August 20, 2022, Aaron proposed to Adria in Asheville, NC, one of their favorite cities and the first place they vacationed together. From North Carolina to New York, 2016 to now, Adria and Aaron can’t wait for all the new adventures and many more years to come.
